** Dear Reader,
I’d would like to note that this post was previously written (and recorded) prior to the recent events in LA.
When I launched Intuitive Living last Tuesday, I had no idea the week we were about to experience in Los Angeles due to the devastation of the wildfires and the impact it would have on me and my community.
I chose to write a letter to LA, which you can read here, to communicate my brief pause in seasonal content until next Tuesday, January 21. This casual piece is full of spiritual “hot takes” personal anecdotes, and tips I’ve gathered throughout my career, that reflect what Intuitive Living means to me. I hope it brings a bit of laughter, introspection, or ease during a time that has felt incredibly challenging to so many of us.
The full length audio is available for members of The Sanctuary, the paid subscriber space.
I am donating 100% of Substack profits from January and February to the LA Fire Department (LAFD) as well as sharing with GoFundMe pages of friends, colleagues, and community members I know personally who have been impacted by the destruction.
Hi friends, I’m 33 today.
Consider is a little *bonus* post for the upcoming Winter season so we can hang out, get more personal, and celebrate together.
I recorded a 50-minute solo “podcast” for paid Sanctuary Subscribers (full episode linked below) but here’s a preview for everyone to enjoy and listen (in).
THE 33 LESSONS I’VE LEARNED IN 33 YEARS:
1. Set realistic expectations - for yourself, for others, for experiences.
2. Dancing with your partner is necessary and beautiful. And while nobody is asking, my husband and I are particularly obsessed with this song (it’s our wedding song).
3. Learn what you can outsource, and admit the things you can’t (or are unwilling to).
4. Walks are energetic medicine.
5. 6 am is the perfect time of day.
6. You need to know the type of traveler you are.
7. Finding your personal style will alleviate so much social anxiety. I love following and learning from Allison Bornstein.
8. A lot can be solved simply by taking accountability.
9. Learn how to name and describe what triggers you and why.
10. Being a hater is not cute - let people live and do their thing.
11. Find hobbies that keep your hands busy and away from your phone in the evening. Here’s an article with 47 ideas, there’s got to be something you could see yourself trying next weeknight rather than doomscrolling.
12. Showers are a creative portal - use them as such. It does have something to do with the feng shui of the bathroom and elemental influence. I get into this more in the audio ramble exclusive to subscribers below.
13. All food and drinks carry the vibration you consume them in, be mindful.
14. Meditation takes countless forms.
15. Your inner child would love some reparenting.
16. Overhead lighting sucks. If you want to switch it up, these lights were the best $27 I spent in my home, swearsies.
17. You don’t need another crystal or tarot deck.
18. You don’t need a drink - but if you do drink, you I definitely don’t need more than two drinks. (And if you’re curious about the NA bevvy I enjoy best lately, it’s been Tost.)
19. You really can live with less.
20. It’s time to be on time now. We are adults, after all.
21. Consulting a psychic does not replace personal responsibility.
22. Stop using your human design and astrology chart as an excuse.

23. Small concerts are better than large concerts.
24. We still look young, because we are still young. And we also look a little bit older, because we are a little older.
25. 11 pm is late enough - 10pm is even better.
26. Fresh flowers in the home are worth every penny. Pro Tip: Search for Trader Joe’s flower arrangements on your IG or TT page, and you’ll find some awesome creators who show you the magic you can make with a $20 bundle of blooms.
27. Your spirit guides love you, so, so much.
28. That said, not everything is a sign from Spirit. Refer back to Lesson 8.
29. Without a calm nervous system, manifesting can be really hard. (And I’m not trying to be “woo” with this one, my friend
even interviews a neuroscientist about it on her podcast - here’s the episode.)30. Forgiveness opens us to healing, which leads us to truth, which taps us into our authenticity and magic.
31. You’ll grow out of your tattoos, and that’s okay.
32. Honor the seasons and collective shifts. You’ll be amazed at what this can do for your creative, energetic, and physical well-being/capacity.
33. Your higher self doesn’t know what’s trending right now. I promise.
