The Psychic Shower: How I Transformed a Daily Habit into an Energetic Reset
A Step-By-Step Mind-Body-Spirit Cleanse
If you know me, you know my shower is my sanctuary. I spend an embarrassing amount of time there, whether I’m washing off the day’s energy, processing thoughts, or just letting the water wash over me while I dream up my next big idea. The shower is my creative portal. (More on that in this post.) I even purchased a waterproof notepad to remember ideas that come to me in the shower once. Cool idea in theory, but turns out waterproof notepads are a product that (I believe) needs a few rounds of redesign.
As a psychic and intuitive reader, I’ve accumulated countless energetic cleansing practices to help me reset after working with others’ energy. But you don’t need to be a psychic to benefit from a little self-care. No matter your profession, we all live in a world that’s overstimulated, overloaded, and—let’s face it—demanding. Whether it’s your inbox, traffic, or the latest world crisis, it’s easy to feel drained or like your energy is on the fritz. When that happens, it’s time for a full reset.
Enter: The Ultimate Mind-Body-Spirit Cleanse designed to reset your whole system—physically, emotionally, and energetically.
I believe the most intuitive way to live isn’t through rigid spiritual routines or perfectionist rituals—it’s by engaging our senses and reconnecting with the simple pleasure of presence. That’s why I love transforming a simple daily shower—something most of us have likely habitualized—into a full-body, multi-sensory reset. It’s accessible, inviting (who doesn’t love to slip into the shower and feel the warm water on their skin?), and a habit you can quite easily turn into a ritual.
This guide combines practices that feel obvious, as well as some that take cleansing to a more psychic or intuitive level (and could make you feel a little out of your element) alongside accessible reminders that root us back into our humanness. No matter how otherworldly, buzzy, or downright exhausted we feel, our bodies are still here, reminding us to listen.
You'll need about 30 to 60 minutes of uninterrupted time and a full commitment to focus solely on your energy. Since we experience life through our senses, we’ll move through this cleanse by engaging touch, sound, sight, scent, and taste, creating a holistic reset that leaves you feeling lighter, clearer, and reconnected to yourself.
What You’ll Need: The Ritual Recipe
Before we get started, gather your ingredients. Think of this as your toolbox for energetic renewal.
✔ Body Scrub – To scrub away the day (literally).
✔ Body Wash – To cleanse and refresh.
✔ Body Lotion and/ or Oil – To seal in nourishment and care after your cleanse. I’ll share more below, but Osea’s Undaria Body Collection is my go-to for all of these products.
✔ The Coziest, Fluffiest Towel & Robe – Because post-shower bliss should be a hug for your body.
✔ A Way to Listen to Music & Meditation – Your headphones, your phone, whatever. Connect to bluetooth because I have a playlist and meditation for you!
✔ Pen & Paper – For jotting down insights, releasing what no longer serves you, or reflecting on the experience, should you feel called.
✔ Your Imagination – The most important ingredient. Visualization enhances energy work, so let your mind be open and playful for Step
Optional Enhancements for Post-Cleanse
Snacks & Tea – A cup of tea or some grounding snacks (think nuts, dark chocolate, or fruit) to ease you back into your body after the ritual.
Ready? Let’s tap in.
STEP 1: TOUCH / FEEL
Before we even think about getting undressed, let’s shake. it. out.
Stand up and shake your body free. Flail your arms, stomp your feet, bounce on your heels. The more ridiculous, the better.
If this free movement feels too weird, try Breath of Joy for 10-20 rounds.
It’s my favorite breathwork technique, and it’s one I’ve been practicing for years. I’ve linked an instructional video here, but essentially it’s a 3 part breath where you inhale three short sniffs of air (as your arms reach forward, then out to the sides, then overhead), then exhale with a big, satisfying HA! as you fold forward.
It’s invigorating, a little silly, and guaranteed to shake you out of your head and into your body. Really get into it, drop the head, let your hair fly around, and breathe DEEPLY through the practice.
By now, you’re not stuck at your desk, lost in traffic, or buried under to-do lists.
You’re awake. Your body is moving.
And you’ve just sent a clear message: I’m here to support my body and cleanse myself of what no longer serves me.
Step into the shower now and begin to notice more details.
Notice the temperature of the water as it hits your skin. Is it soothing? Energizing? Somewhere in between? Notice the dampness of the steam filling the shower as you breathe.
Tune into your body—how does it feel now to receive the warmth and support of the water?
Next, try supportive somatic touch.
✔ Notice where tension and stress are hanging out throughout your body and muscles. Gently massage your shoulders or squeeze your arms, signaling to your nervous system: “It’s safe to drop this stress and simply be here.”
✔ Now, exfoliate using a body scrub - my favorite is Osea’s Undaria Cleansing Body Polish. It feels so literal (in the best way) to scrub away the day and get rid of both any physical and energetic ickiness. You can visualize stress, fatigue, and anything else you’re ready to release being buffed away from the body. The texture of the scrub adds an extra layer of detox both for dead skin cells, but draws us back to the sensory experience too making this first step mindful.
✔ Follow up with a soothing body wash, lathering with intention. I use Osea’s Undaria Algae body wash which contains the same hero ingredient - Undaria Seaweed. It’s Ph balanced and like all of Osea’s products, vegan and cruelty-free.

STEP 2: HEAR / LISTEN
Now that you’ve scrubbed away the day, let’s bring sound into the mix, using it in this ritual will shift your energy from the inside out.
Before turning off the water, speak an affirmation to continue the energy release and cleansing. You can whisper it, chant it, or say it loudly and proudly—whatever feels right in the moment.
Some examples:
“I release what no longer serves me. I am cleansed, renewed, and free.”
“I let go of stress, fear, and anything that weighs me down.”
“I call all my energy back to me. I am present, whole, and clear.”
“I release any energy I’ve picked up from others today. My energy is mine.”
Feel the vibration of your words as they echo in the solitude and space around you.
Once you’re out of the shower, maybe play a song that helps you relax, feel expansive, or reconnect with yourself. Or, use this playlist I created with healing frequencies. I chose specific tones to further cleanse and reset your energy field. Keep it handy for any time you need to romanticize or ritualize your daily cleansing routines.
STEP 3: SEE
Now that you’ve stepped out of the shower, wrap yourself in something cozy—your fluffiest towel or robe. Let yourself feel held and comforted, it might have been A DAY.
Before we dive back into the final steps of body care, let’s pause for a eight-minute visualization practice. You can do this seated or standing—whatever feels best.
Let your mind guide you to a place of deep, grounded presence. Picture yourself fully cleansed, fully aligned, and fully YOU. Becoming so present in our bodies and breath can bring up ideas, emotions, or clarity that was unheard throughout the movement of the day. If that’s the case for you, feel free to journal or write down how you feel after the grounding meditation to better understand what your body is asking for.
STEP 4: SEAL & PROTECT WITH SCENT
It’s time to lock in and “seal” all this new spacious energy in as you move forward. After releasing, refreshing, and resetting, this final step protects and honors the new energy you cultivated.
This is a common theme in what’s called “psychic hygiene”. I remind clients that when we let go of one energy (stress, fear, worry), we make ROOM for something more nourishing or supportive to reenter. This rebalancing of energy feels empowering, because we can alter or remove and replenish as we see fit.
And while our bodies exist as one physical boundary, our aura is another.
The physical shape of our bodies are easy to see, but auras? We can only sense them.
Our signature scents remind me of our auras. They’re an essence and representation of us that lingers, and scent is also so powerful because it triggers our remembrance as we attach memories and associations.
The intention for this step is to visualize your aura (the space surrounding you) that you may not be able to see, but others in your life can certainly feel.
Reconnect to this practice of mindfulness with the next body care step deeper here, applying and appreciating the scents of your favorite lotion or body oil. Can you allow yourself to begin to associate this scent of the lotion or oil with the intention of being PRESENT?
Can you picture it filling your energy field around you, as a way of not only romanticising and appreciating this everyday moment, but also honoring your protective shield and boundary?
This combines physical self-care, with something far more sacred.
Because I just love the Undaria Body Collection by Osea, I use the body lotion and body oil from this set almost daily. The scent of both products is SO good and I really love skincare products that contain hyaluronic acid which is in the lotion!
STEP 5: TASTE
While it’s totally optional, to complete your reset you can add the final grounding experience through the sense of taste. After all, we’re human, and who doesn’t love a little treat to round out a ritual?
This step-by-step reset is especially powerful in the afternoon or evening, after a day where we’ve picked up energy throughout the day. A grounding herbal tea or sweet indulgence can help you slow down and ease into your evening plans.
I notice after almost every psychic reading, I’m cravin’ a little something. Tea, handful of nuts, fruit, or dark chocolate have become my go-to’s. I’ll have a couple bites and nourish myself after utilizing energy to connect and channel for my clients.
Here are a few grounding tea blends to nurture your body and spirit, especially after a long day:
Chamomile & Lavender – Calms the nervous system and helps you unwind.
Ginger & Turmeric – Earthy and grounding, great for settling your body.
Ashwagandha & Holy Basil – Adaptogens that bring balance and ease.
Peppermint & Lemon Balm – Refreshing and soothing for clearing mental fog.
Sweet tooth like me? A square of dark chocolate or a cup of hot cacao is the perfect indulgence to close the ritual.
And there you have it—the ultimate mind-body-spirit cleanse. Full reset. Fully you.
