I Start My Day with Coffee, Corded Headphones, & The Voice of My Higher Self.
A Voice Activation Practice to "Script" Your Summer
You’ve probably picked up on this by now, but I’m a big believer in saying the thing out loud. Speaking your intentions. Declaring your goals. Voicing your needs. These forms of voice activation turn the volume up on the version of you you’re already stepping into.
There’s just something about hearing your own voice name what you want—it hits different. And yes, listening to yourself on playback can feel a little cringe (at first). But that’s part of the embodiment. It’s like sneaky reprogramming. The more you hear your higher self speak, the more you start to believe the truths they are telling you. The more you believe those truths, the more you start acting in alignment with them.
Below, I’m walking you through a scripting ritual—the same one I share with my mentorship clients—to help you enter the upcoming summer season with more clarity, momentum, and above all, self-trust.
Grab your headphones because this one’s good. I’ve been using this exact scripting ritual for well over a year now.
But Kate, back-up. What is “scripting” and what makes it so special?
Scripting is a powerful voice activation ritual where you write a script for your life—as told by your higher (or future) self. Think of it as that wiser, clearer version of you narrating what’s already unfolding. What they’re experiencing. What’s inevitably on the way to you? All the good stuff, spoken like it’s just… totally normal for them.
The timeline? That’s up to you. You could script your next 24 hours, your summer, your next year. Personally, I love seasonal scripting—it matches the natural rhythms of life. Each quarter brings new intentions, fresh energy, and shifts in what we need most.
And yes, “script” might make you think of a movie set. That’s kind of the point. This isn’t so different from a screenwriter drafting a film for the lead role—only you are the lead.
Your higher self writes the story. Then Current you listens, and starts to direct your actions, conversations, routines, and choices accordingly.
Divine instruction, I like to call it.
Is scripting different from manifesting?
Manifesting is based on the idea that we can think something we want into reality. Scripting, on the other hand, is all about action. The word says it all—you’re scripting your desired experience, envisioning the version of your life where what you want already exists.
The tense you use is key. You’ll see it reflected in the prompts I’ve shared below, but speaking as if it’s already true—and hearing it that way—helps your energy become more comfortable claiming it. The more familiar it sounds, the less foreign it feels to embody.
You know what us spiritual people like to say: It is written.By the stars, sure. But I love it even more when it comes directly from Self.
When you should listen to your recording …
You can listen to your script anytime, but I suggest doing it first thing in the morning. I keep a pair of corded headphones by my bed and hit play within the first few minutes of waking up. Those 5–8 minutes (it ranges) become a little multitasking moment—I’ll oil pull, put the coffee on, and let the voice of my future self invite me into an aligned day.
She feels like a big sister. Her demeanor is comforting, calm, and clear. She reminds me of what I’m just starting to believe is true. I hope you feel that same grounded reassurance when you move through this ritual, too.
Instead of starting your day with the noise of the outside world—your inbox, a scroll, a dating app check-in, the news, or the anxiety of whatever your boss is about to ask—start with something softer.
Tips for writing yours…
To really sink into the prompts below, you’ll want to be in a headspace that helps you access your higher self’s mindset, actions, and beliefs.
Approach this like you would any sacred daily ritual—one you actually look forward to. Think: your elaborate skincare routine, your first cup of coffee, your morning movement, or your daily tarot pull.
Set yourself up in a cozy spot. Queue a playlist that makes you feel empowered. Do whatever you need to connect with the energy you want your higher self to be immersed in. That’s what will help the words flow with more ease and clarity.
I’ve included detailed instructions below because I know this practice can be both fascinating and a little intimidating, especially if speaking your desires out loud or hearing your own voice makes you squirm (totally normal, by the way).
STEP 1: DEFINE WHAT YOU’RE CLAIMING THIS SEASON
Is it a feeling? A specific outcome? A new connection?
Choose one word or short phrase that captures the essence of what you’re calling in with this voice recording. This is your guiding intention—the message your higher self is anchoring you into for the season ahead.
Getting clear on this will help you respond to the prompts with more focus and care, and bring consistency to your daily decisions.
TIP: I recommend you title your voice to embrace whatever comes up. For example titling it “My season to become _____. “Welcome to my season of_____.”
STEP 2: BEGIN YOUR RECORDING WITH A GROUNDED GREETING:
Before jumping straight into the details of your higher self’s message, start your voice message with a grounded, intentional greeting. It helps set the energy and shift you into the perspective of your future self.
Below is the exact greeting I use, but feel free to write one that sounds more like you.
Kate’s Greeting:
“Good morning. It’s me—your future self, your higher self, the (woman/person) you are actively becoming.
I invite you to close your eyes with me for the next few moments and fully drop into this vibration—this truth—as I share the life you’re building, the energy you’re living in, the presence you feel, and the gifts you’ve already received.”
STEP 3: CHOOSE YOUR PROMPTS, PREPARE YOUR STORY…
TAKE A MOMENT TO READ THESE PROMPTS BELOW, CHOOSING YOUR FAVORITES FOR THIS SEASON.
I’ve put together 42 prompts to spark your creativity. BUT THAT IS A LOT! I recommend you begin with 8-10, and see how much comes to you.
You can either speak freely into your phone, completing each prompt intuitively and processing verbally OR you may wish to jot down some notes for your prompts then record after you’ve gathered your thoughts.
I recommend you try to cover a wide range of your day, painting a holistic picture of what you and your higher self will experience together as you move through your rituals and routines throughout this season.
STEP 4: SPEAK FROM THE HEART, AND ALLOW THE HIGHER SELF TO SHARE:
“You wake up each morning incredibly grateful for…”
“You take a moment to express this gratitude by…”
“You set the tone for the day with one grounding or spiritual practice, like…”
“You start your morning routine by…”
“You take care of your…”
“You speak to yourself like…”
“You notice you feel incredible in your body, and this is why…”
“You notice you feel comfortable in your skin, and…”
“You feel confident as you…”

“You work with a clear sense of purpose, and your top priorities feel like…”
“Your work feels…”
“You’ve found ways to welcome more abundance into your life through…”

“You do not…”
“You’ve set boundaries with…”
“Your life has expanded in such a way that you have started working on…”

“The day felt intentional, and you notice…”
“Your home and environment feel…”
“You go to sleep peacefully knowing that…”
“Your dreams are guiding you toward…”
“I’d like to remind you to _____ today.”
STEP 5: CLOSE THE RECORDING WITH GRATITUDE:
Similar to the greeting, you may wish to write something that feels true to you. Consider these last couple sentences as a way to seal in this journey with your higher self and powerful voice activation practice.
Here’s my closing:
“Enjoy the rest of your day, it's leading you to me. I love you, I’m here for you, call out to me when you need me, and keep your choices and actions with me in mind. And remember how remarkable you are.”

SPEAK IT INTO BEING: 9 HIGHLY SPECIFIC AFFIRMATIONS
Words are not just sounds; they are vibrations, spells cast into the air, shaping the world around us. Every syllable holds weight, energy, and intention. When spoken aloud, affirmations become incantations—calling in the reality we desire, weaving our future self into the present moment.
I love this idea and will try it!
Inspired by your post about affirmations back in February, I wrote an affirmation for my sweet little restaurant. My husband and I bought it right before Covid pretty much on a whim. It’s been a wild ride for sure. We are in a great place right now. We have a great staff and amazing guests. Writing and using that affirmation has really changed how my days go. I went from always starting the work day in kind of a fight or flight mode to feeling peaceful and grateful. I can’t wait to try this exercise! It’s perfect timing as we move into Summer which is usually slower paced.
