We’re supposed to be comfortable at home. It’s our oasis. Where we create, where we nourish our bodies and souls, where we retreat.

But there is such a thing as being too comfortable.

When we get too comfortable, we start to see things with, well, whatever the opposite of rose-colored glasses is. Beige-colored glasses? A little stale, kind of lackluster. Boring?

It becomes harder to disrupt regular scheduled programming. Inviting more intentionality and improving our space feels more challenging because we can’t see past the interiors we’ve had for years or the blank walls that need to be filled (but with what, we don’t know?).

We become, unintentionally, complacent in our own stuckness. We see our home as less a relationship (which it is), and more a place to inhabit. Just four walls that house us.

Lucky for us, It’s that time again. The light is shifting. The air is humming.  And your clutter? It’s not just visual anymore—it’s energetic.

We’re all getting a collective itch to make some changes in our lives.

This spring on Intuitive Living, we’re exploring what it means to move—not just physically, but energetically. Renewal doesn’t always begin with a closet purge (although, I plan to get to that too). Sometimes it starts with a breath. A pause. A subtle shift in how you meet your space.

So here’s your invitation:Reintroduce yourself to your home like you’re a stranger. A polite one. Maybe someone slightly clairvoyant. Or just really sensitive to vibes. (Hi, that’s you.)

I know that may sound a little weird. But stick with me here.

When was the last time you walked into your home and asked, “How ya doing?”When did you last sense your space, rather than just scan it for dishes or unfolded laundry?

I do this often with my clients. When I walk into a new space—especially when I’m doing intuitive or energetic work—I don’t jump right in. I hover. I observe. I let my body notice what’s happening before my mind assigns meaning. I call it entering neutrality. It’s something I do before every psychic reading, whether a personal reading or a home reading, and it’s even a state of mind I try to access in my own healing and reflection, too.

Because here’s the truth: your body already knows.

Clairsentience—the psychic ability to feel energy—isn’t some rare mystical trait. It’s instinctual. It’s that gut feeling you get when a room feels off. The comfort you feel in a specific corner booth at your café without knowing why. The sudden tension when someone walks in carrying a weird vibe.

You’ve “read” environments before. Now, let’s practice reading your own home.

THE 4 STEP RITUAL: Become A Stranger in Your Space

This is a somatic scan to meet your home (and yourself) with new eyes.

This ritual is a soft, sensory reintroduction to your space. It’s not about judging what you see but instead noticing what you sense. We’re tapping into your subtle body, your intuitive compass, and letting it guide the way.

Step One: Set Your Intention (and Your Energy)

Before you start walking, pause at the front door. Just stand there like you're waiting to be let in by the Universe herself.

Close your eyes. Take a few slow, deep breaths. Feel your feet. Let your body arrive.

Then set your intention. Something simple like:“I will view this space with new eyes and notice the messages it has for me.”

You might want to clear your energy—burn sage, palo santo, or simply shake out your limbs and exhale deeply. Whatever helps you shift from autopilot to presence.

This is a ritual of noticing. Not judging. Not fixing. Just listening.
